Hagrid is a sable & white Chin (red-and-white with black hairs scattered through the red). He was born 10/16/2006, bred by Judy Shaffer of Sensei Japanese Chin in Erie, PA. His sire was imported from Russia by Karen Hoffman of Tanzen Chin. His dam was bred by Bill and Peggy Schnarrenberger of Randalet Japanese Chin. Please scroll down to see his pedigree. Hagrid's eyes and heart are certified healthy by vet specialists (OFA and CERF), most recently at the Canfield, Ohio show clinic (8/2010). Heart certification is important because many poorly bred Chin die before they are 10 years old of hereditary heart disease. Eye certification is important because some Chin are genetically predisposed to go blind while still young. Hagrid's patellas are average for a Chin - grade 1 and grade 2 luxation. He weighs 9 or 10 lb., depending on his level of activity. He is AKC DNA profiled. Hagrid has recently been neutered and mostly sleeps on the couch, but he loves to have his belly rubbed! He also loves to roll around in the snow. He has retired to be cherished by Virginia D. in Suffolk, Virginia. |
